Will you volunteer?

If you have a passion and skill for working with young people, the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians needs you! Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. We are currently seeking enthusiastic site-based volunteers to provide a quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience for girls in Roane County who would not otherwise have access to Girl Scouting. There are a number of girls at the local Housing Authorities who are waiting for volunteers! As a committed adult volunteer, you’ll help girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives such as leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

·       Volunteer 4-8 hours per month with a team of other volunteers
·       No prior Girl Scout experience is necessary
·       Complete training and on-going support is provided
·       Candidates must be:
o   Flexible
o   Able to work in a collaborative fashion
o   Representative of Girl Scouts in a professional manner
