Mayor W. Troy Beets
Mayor Beets moved to
Roane County in June 1969 with his wife Carolyn and sons Jay and
Doug. They have four granddaughters (two (Tayler and Sarah) live
in Virginia, one (Becca) in New Jersey and Brittani McClure, a resident
of Kingston and the mother of their first great-grandchild,
Rowynn). Carolyn is a retired Kingston business woman. He
retired as a Section Head from Lockheed Martin Energy Systems in 1998
after 32 years of service in the Information Technology Division.
He worked at various plants during this service including K-25, X-10
and Y-12. In May 2005, Mayor Beets retired from the Kingston
Elementary School where he was employed as a Computer Lab Technical
Assistant.

Accomplishments:

Elected Mayor of Kingston in June, 2005. Re-elected in June 2009

Serves as President Elect of the Tennessee County Commissioners
Association (TCCA), the statewide organization representing more than
1,640 member of all 95 county legislative bodies in Tennessee
•
Selected as a member and serves as Chairman of the TVA Foundation Board
•
Member of the Board of Directors of East Tennessee Human Resource
Agency
•
Member of the Board of Directors of the Joint Economic and Community
Development Agency
•
Member of the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee
•
Member of the Board of Directors for Roane Alliance
•
Elected to the Roane County Commission in 2002. Re-elected in 2006
•
Elected as Chairman of the Roane County Commission in 2006, 2007, 2008,
and 2009
