Councilman Tim Neal
Council Member Neal is a life-long resident of Kingston and a 1988
graduate of Roane County High School. He attended Roane State
Community College prior to beginning his career with Y-12 in Oak Ridge
where he has been employed for twenty years and is now a supervisor in
the Assembly division.
Tim is a veteran council member serving from 1993 to 2003. During
his prior service he also served the Council as Vice Mayor. The
accomplishments of Council during his term include created an
agricultural zone for the city; located an ambulance service at City
Hall; development of Ladd Park; purchased a new fire truck; worked for
lighting the I-40 Kingston Exit; established the Southwest Point Fort
Committee. During his years of service some of the issues he
voted for were: the BFI contract (currently WCI); the sewer
extensions for Lakeside Drive, Oak Hills and Eblen Estates; the
Gallaher Road Annexation; a new Public Works Building; a waterline
extension in the Lawnville Road area; mutual aide agreements with TVA
and South Roane County; and getting Natural Gas for the Kingston
area. He also served on the Parks and Recreation
Commission. Also, as Council Member he held a near perfect
attendance record.
Tim is the son of Eleanor and the late Clea Neal. He resides in
Kingston with his wife, the former Lora Long. Tim attends First
Baptist Church and is a member of the Century Club. His hobbies
are golfing and camping.
